HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
For private patients you are welcome to call, email or message me via this website to make an initial appointment.
For clients looking to access a Medicare rebate, please see your GP and request a referral to us. A copy of your Mental Health Care Plan will be required before your first appointment.
Following contact with the Psychologist you will receive an email with information regarding your appointment and a link to a form to be completed prior to coming to your appointment.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to allow you time to complete and questionnaires before the session starts.
Also bring your Medicare Card and Mental Health Care Plan if required.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Initial sessions can be up to 90 minutes long. This first session involves collecting background information and psychometric data while also planning for the following treatment.
For referrals for children and minors, this session is often spent with Parents and Caregivers.
If these sessions are for a Mental Health Care Plan they may not attract the rebate available from Medicare. This will be discussed in more detail when you book your appointment.
Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes long.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Services are charged in accordance with the Australian Psychology Society recommended fee schedule, however a significantly lower rate is charged at YoungMinds.
Sessions are $160. A rebate of $86.15 is available through Medicare if you have seen your GP first and have a Mental Health Care Plan.
Rebates from Private Health insurers may also be available as per your level of cover.
Employee Assistance Program services are billed directly to them. Please inquire with your employer to see if you or your family are eligible for such services.
DO YOU HAVE HICAPS?
Yes. Medicare rebates and Private Health Insurance rebates are able to be refunded immediately.
